Is this the greatest model shop in the world, or just a model?

Trevor Warner is, we believe, a real person not a model. He’s a director of the Snetterton Model Shop in Snetterton Park (off the A11 between Thetford and Wymondham). We know this because we’ve shaken his hand many times and it’s not thermoplastic. Or painted with flesh coloured Humbrol.

It’s just that everything else at his place is either snap fit, constructed using tubes of adhesive, is motorised or scaled down 1:34.

The word “shop” can hardly be used to adequately describe this veritable Aladdin’s Cave of model paraphernalia. This surely must be one of the world’s largest model establishments. With 6000 square feet of floor space, the shop houses all manner of models and model accessories from cars, railways, boats, radio controlled racing cars and circuits. And when everything is scaled down you can fit an enormous amount of stock into 6000 square feet.

Whatever your interest is we think you should take a look. Take the family. There are shops, a café and a market every Sunday. Although you can never be quite sure whether all these things are simply giant Airfix kits.
