We are pleased to announce…
One of the top business awards in the
country, sponsored by Alliance Corporate Risk Management, has been
won at a glittering awards ceremony hosted by William Hague.
Jonathan Quaile, managing director of
Alliance, handed over the Company of the Year award to Wolfson Microelectronics
at the CBI Growing Business Awards night, attended by some of the
biggest names in British business.
The Company of the Year was one of the
top awards presented at the event - dubbed the ‘business Oscars’
by Chancellor Gordon Brown - at the London Hilton in Park Lane.
John McLaren-Stewart, chief executive
of Alliance, said Wolfson was truly deserving of such a prestigious
award. "They're a successful business well known for their
innovative approach and we were delighted to be able to hand over
this well-deserved and respected award to them.
“We sponsored the Company of the
Year award because we support just this sort of dynamic company
- businesses that inspire us and help us develop our own product
and servicing support to meet the increasing legislative and global
market in which they operate.
“A business can only grow if it
takes risks - not reckless risk-taking but quantified, well assessed
risk taking, where the upside is enormous and the downside is protected
through entrepreneurial risk management. We understand that and
so do businesses of the calibre of these award-winners."
The Growing Business Awards ceremony took
place in front of 700 entrepreneurs - guests included Charles Dunstone,
John Madejski, Sir Peter Rigby, Sir Anthony Bamford, Sir Tom Hunter,
Lord Graham Kirkham and the entire cast of BBC2’s Dragons’
Den. |
